Bernie Sanders: When Republicans Have Nothing to Say About Health Care, They Call Me a Communist

SANDERS: "And the other statements are that I’m a communist or that this person is what — I mean, it's hard to keep up with what we all — that Muslims are terrorists, you know? And what that shows, and I think the American people are gonna see through that — look, when you are a political party from Trump on down that has nothing to say about a health care system which is broken and which is wildly expensive, whose function in the world is to make huge profits for the insurance companies and the drug companies, when you have nothing to say about the need to raise a $7.25 an hour minimum wage, when you think the climate change is a hoax, when you’re working with the Big Tech oligarchs to push data centers all over the country, you know what, you got nothing to say about the real issue. So what do you come up with? Well, Bernie Sanders is a communist, you know, complete nonsense, socialism is communism, Mamdani is a whatever he is lately. You know, you come up with these stupid charges because you are intellectually bankrupt and you cannot deal with the real issues facing the American people. Our job is to talk real issues to refute their stupid, often bigoted charges. And I think if we do that, we're gonna be just fine."
