KEANE: “What Admiral Cooper has, and he's provided considerable assurances to the secretary of War and also to the president, is that he has enough weapons to defend and he has enough weapons to conduct significant offensive operations. So that's where the theater stands. I'm not minimizing the replenishment of stockpiles, which is a different issue, and we've got to do that as quickly as possible, but in terms of ability to defend and ability to fight offensively, they have what they need. And likely, as the president indicated, he will respond here to the attacks that took place.”
