Dem Rep. Raskin During Windy Outdoor Interview on MS NOW: Democrats Are Mobilizing ‘Even in the Middle of Tornadoes’
RUSH EXCERPT:
RASKIN: "So I if I if I heard you properly, Jacob, the the Constitution gives the states the primary power over elections, and the president has no role at all. And that’s the critical point. Much less does the federal government have the power to compel states to turn over their their own proprietary information about voters. And in a case which all the Republicans used to love anyway, called prince versus United States, it was very clear that the federal government cannot commandeer the resources and the personnel of the state the federal objective and goal, as you say, is completely illegitimate. It’s the goal of trying to throw chaos into the election. I mean, look, we had midterm congressional elections during the civil war. We had them during world war two. The federal government never moved to take over the elections. And all of this is about Donald Trump’s wounded feelings about the 2020 election and his attempt to try to control who is going to win in Congress. But as we’re finding out here on the road, the Democrats are mobilizing and organizing everywhere, even in the middle of, you know, tornadoes or what have you to back Congress."
