Crockett Says She Doesn’t Know if Black Voters Are Excited in Texas

COATES: "What are you hearing from black voters that you speak to in Texas? Is there excitement in terms of turnout?"
CROCKETT: "I don’t think that there is excitement, but I think that — "
COATES: "How do you turn that around?"
CROCKETT: "Well, I don’t know that — like, black voters are practical. So, at the end of the day, I don’t know that they’re going to have to be the most excited. But I will tell you that you always want voters to be excited, right? Like, you want them to feel that because that gives you an idea. Again, if it’s raining on that day, if the lines are long, you want that excitement to be able to overcome that."
COATES: "Or if there is suppressive tactics."
CROCKETT: "Correct.”
