Scott Jennings: I Don’t Think America Should Let Canada Roll over Us

JENNINGS: “The time. I‘m more interested in actually what happens with Canada. They need us more than we need them. And it‘s absolutely true that Canada has been treating many U.S. Industries and U.S. workers very poorly and very unfairly for a long time. I like the tough negotiations now, back before the deal got blown up, the president was actually pretty forward leaning on what they had negotiated and what he thought they had agreed to. There‘s been some reports from the U.S. Government that the Canadians were actually the ones who were being quite unreasonable. We‘ll see if they come back. The Canadians set September the 8th as their tariff increase date. That gives you some time here, but I don‘t think we should let Canada, a smaller player in this partnership, run all over us, whether it‘s in dairy or agriculture or this.”
