Commerce Secretary Lutnick: Kennedy Center Is ‘Dangerous’; ‘There Are Chunks of Concrete Falling off the Ceiling in the Garage’

‘This building was neglected’

EXCERPT:

LUTNICK: “That’s what he set out to do, and he’s doing it for the American people, because if it takes years to renovate this building, and it will take two years to renovate it, he’s not doing it for himself. Maybe he’ll be here and be the president for the grand opening. But other than that, this is for America. This is to create the greatest institution in America. The building is dangerous. People say, oh, don’t overstate that it’s dangerous. Look, there are chunks of concrete falling off the ceiling in the garage. When it fell off last time at 4:00 in the morning, OK, you clean it up in the morning. But if it fell on somebody, that would be an unmitigated disaster.”
