Caroline Downey: If Elected, Abdul El-Sayed Is the Most Radical Member of the Senate

DOWNEY: "And for those who would accuse him and others of dragging this campaign trail down into the culture war, I would just remind those folks that Michigan is a competitive state, it's not a battleground state, that Trump won in 2016 and 2024, so it’s not at all a foregone conclusion that the Democrats sweep up that race. But the bottom line is that El-Sayed, if elected, would be the most radical member ever in the Senate. he is the most radical by every conceivable dimension. You might think Bernie Sanders clearly takes the cake, right, because he is the original tried and true socialist, but he actually cares most about affordability and economic matters, if you really were to drill down. He only appeased the DSA by saying he will rubberstamp gender ideology. El-Sayed on the other hand, he peddles third-worldism, he actually is friendly to our enemies, he is hostile to the American project, he wants to vandalize our institutions like the Supreme Court, which he has supported that he will pack that. And then when you get to the economics, okay, fine, let’s talk about cost of living crisis. To your point, Dagen, Medicare-for-all is his favorite economic goal, right? But he won't talk about, number one, how it would require taxing the middle class — the math does not compute without that — but also that it would kick off millions of Americans off their private or employer-sponsored plans."
