Alex Wagner: Texas Republicans’ ‘Open Disavowal’ of Trump’s Data Centers Stance Indicates ‘Waning Power’
TRANSCRIPT:
WAGNER: "100%. I mean, you don’t just have to look at what’s happening on election night in America. You can look at the events of this week, and it’s only Tuesday, I think. There’s what’s happening in Texas around data centers. Trump has come out unequivocally and doubled down on his support for data centers in the last 72 hours, right? And instead of falling in line behind him, the leaders of the Republican Party in Texas, who heretofore had been all about data centers, called Texas the epicenter of data centers, are reading the state and understand that there is major conservative grassroots mutiny on this subject and doing a 180. There is open disavowal of Donald Trump and his stated position on a key election issue happening in the deepest red counties of Texas that Donald Trump won in 2024 by 88%. I mean, that is as much of an indicator of his waning power as anything else."
