Mich. State Rep. At Abdul El-Sayed’s ‘No Hate In Michigan’ Event Attacks Mike Rogers

UNKNOWN: “And today is not about being partisan or political, but it is about outlining this: that if you are seeking public trust, if you’re trying to be somebody that leads our state, if you’re trying to be somebody to guide our community, to make sure Michigan can succeed for everybody, everybody can succeed here, why are you silent when our community is under attack? Why are you silent when KKK fires are being found on the front door steps of communities in Detroit, Melvindale and Dearborn? Why are you silent? Why are you silent when there are Nazi flags and appeals to one of the greatest human catastrophes in history being made in public and you’re quiet? It’s unacceptable and it’s unbecoming of anybody that wants a certain public office. So I stand here, probably with my colleagues here, folks of interfaith, of all walks of life, of lived experiences, plainly saying, hate has no home here in our state. Don’t bring that here. Michigan is united. We stand in solidarity with each other. We’ll continue to look out for one another, and that is what makes us a great state. That is what puts us apart from anywhere else that you can go and live. Thank you."
