Jamal Simmons Accuses Scott Jennings of ‘Going After’ Abdul El-Sayed’s Religion

‘It‘s going after his association with people who say, quote, I want to wipe my ‘A-Double S’ with the U.S. constitution’

EXCERPT:

SIMMONS: "There are a couple of different problems that are happening in America right now. We have got to deal with the increasing amount of anti-Semitism that's happening in one part of the country and the increasing amount of Islamophobia that's happening in the other part of the country. And the truth is, all the politicians who want those things to go away have to stand up and say that, regardless of whether or not they're their friends who are saying it. And I got to say, I don't hear anything on the right of people pushing back against the level of ethnic and religious invocation that's happening. You got a lot of things you can go after Abdul El-Sayed about. I think going after his religion should not be one of them."

JENNINGS: "It's not going after his religion. It's going after his association — "

[cross-talk]

SIMMONS: "You haven't seen the reports? You haven't seen the reports of people talking about — "

JENNINGS: "Let me respond. You asked me. Let me respond."

SIMMONS: " — including Republicans, who are talking about his religion."
