Abdul El-Sayed Mocks Mike Rogers’ ‘Shoot from the Hip’ Data Center Policy: He Does What Trump and Corporation ‘Tell Him to Do’
RUSH EXCERPT:
EL-SAYED: “These aren’t serious people. These are corporate shills who are bought off by the companies who stand to benefit at our loss. And he stuck again between what the voters actually want and what Donald Trump and the corporations who control him want. And so he’s shooting from the hip because for him, he’D rather not actually answer questions. This is what happens when he doesn’t dodge. He took one question and ended up in like policy turmoil. So this clown car of a campaign trying to tout their support from Democrats gets caught. Not having an actual position proposes a position they can’t actually do anything about, which is contrapositive to what he actually has said his entire campaign and what he benefits from. So all of that is to say that at the end of the day, if we’re not serious about getting money out of politics, we’re not going to be serious about solving real problems. I’ve been clear from the jump, I believe in terms of engagement, we need to make sure that any data center proposed at any level, in any place follows the following terms that they use union, labor, all union, labor, that there is no increase in our utility rates, that they don’t touch our water supplies, that the money that is taken by utilities is invested in improving our reliability, and that there is a clear community benefits agreement so that every local community gets made rich, if in fact they choose to include one of these in their community. That’s real policy. Unlike the clown car shoot from the hip public policy from.”
