Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom Doubles Down on State’s New Controversial Tire Replacement Rule
EXCERPT:
NEWSOM: "Well, look, the ROI is pretty good, return on investment. I'm, you know, back to just facts, save of a billion dollars a year in fuel. You talk about affordability agenda. That makes some sense to me. You’d be wise to take advantage of new efficient tires, lower your cost at the pump. And that was borne out in a lot of public testimony. This has been a process, over 2-plus years they've been working on this. I think last year there was some effort to move forward. There was some delay. They worked with the tire manufacturers. The vast majority came on board. One did not. One notable, one did not. But the vast majority embraced it. But from a consumer perspective, the savings is self-evident. And so I think it was a good choice in that respect."
