Scott Jennings: Darline Graham’s Taiwan Comment Is a ‘Rough Moment’ and ‘It Will Sting’
EXCERPT:
JENNINGS: "Yeah, it was a rough moment. Now, in fairness to Darline Graham, she‘s been in politics for a month, AOC has been around for a few years. But look, that‘s no excuse. You‘ve been appointed and you‘ve decided to run for the full term. You got to do your debate prep and be prepared for questions. Now, interestingly, since we‘ve been on the air, she‘s been doing some media tonight, and to Lydia‘s point, here‘s what her comment is: 'I‘m not a politician. I don‘t speak politician. I was just honest, and I think that‘s a foreign concept.' So she‘s kind of using that, 'Hey, I‘m just being honest with you.' And she‘s also pivoting back to economic issues and other things that people might care about. That‘s all you can do when you have a moment like this in a campaign, is try to pivot back into something better.”
