Laurence Tribe Says Harvard University Should Have Fought Back Against Anti-Semitism

‘As should everybody’

EXCERPT:

TRIBE: "Well, that’s right. We have an obligation because, as we saw with law firms like Paul Weiss that caved to the administration, it doesn’t do any good to placate the tyrant. There’s nothing that will satisfy him. He basically tells his Attorney General and his Secretary of Health and Human Services and Secretary of Education, and all these cabinet members, 'Go after this institution or that institution. I want to make an example of them.' I think Harvard pushed back, and I’m very glad it did. I think President Garber and the board, the corporation of Harvard College, did exactly the right thing by defending academic freedom and free inquiry on behalf of all universities and colleges and junior colleges in this country. If Harvard couldn’t stand up to this buffoon, nobody else could. So we are carrying the burden, and I’m proud that we’re doing it."
