Gov. Wes Moore: I Don‘t Know What Woke One Is, But Frankly, I Don‘t Know What Woke Two or Three Is Either

MOORE: "Well, it‘s funny, it‘s true. I said I don‘t know what woke one is, but frankly, I don‘t know what woke two or woke three is either, you know, just last night I was over at watching our, our shorebirds play, which is our, you know, our single, a affiliate for the Baltimore orioles over here in the eastern shore. And I was speaking to a woman who was just saying how difficult it is right now when she was saying how gas prices just continue to spike. And, you know, she‘s a person who‘s on disability. She says she can‘t work because of her back. And she‘s now noticing that just getting anywhere to her doctor‘s appointments are now becoming oppressively expensive because of gas prices. And, and, and I think when we‘re talking about those issues, what she didn‘t come up to me. She didn‘t come up to me and say, what‘s your political ideology? She didn‘t say, what wing of the party do you represent? She was talking about the fact that gas prices are too high. And I think that that‘s the thing. We have to better appreciate is when people are talking about this, you know, Washington oftentimes can play this political science 101 game. But that‘s not where people are. They are just hurting and they‘re looking for someone who is going to honor their promises. Because as the woman last night told me at the shorebirds game, she‘s like the president said, he was going to do something about this. And it‘s only gotten worse under him. That‘s the thing. I think people are so frustrated about. And people want to see real results being delivered, like what we‘re working to do here in the state of Maryland."
