David Drucker on Promises Made by RFK Jr. Amid MAHA: When You Start Slapping Costs on Things, Voters May Look at It Differently

DRUCKER: "Yeah, I mean, well, welcome to Washington. This is a representative government. And the food lobby is, you know, it’s another way of saying lots of companies who produce food that Americans buy, that they want to be able to buy if they want and that they don’t want to pay too much for. Right. And so this goes on every time the government wants to slap all sorts of regulations on products. Look, I will just say, personally, I don’t like artificial colors and flavorings and all that stuff, preservatives. I, I try and keep it away from my kids as much as humanly possible. It’s kind of the way I was raised. I think the question is, do you want the government telling you what to do? And so all I’m explaining to you is that this stuff can be very popular. Broadly speaking, if you ask Americans, do you want healthy food? They’re going to say, yes. Do you want it to be fresh and organic? Do you want it to be free of pesticides and chemicals? They’re all going to say yes, yes, yes and yes. And why shouldn’t they? And why wouldn’t they? And the question is like, how much are you willing to pay for it? Well, I mean, I don’t want to pay a lot for it. And some people can’t pay a lot for it. And I just think the question here is, RFK is trying to do a lot of things that may be, in theory, have a lot of support from American voters. When you start slapping costs on these things, then they may look at it differently."
