Cornell Belcher on MAGA’s Racism Amid Minn. Senate Race: I’m Not Shocked, They Have Not a Lot to Run on, So They Turn to Racism
RUSH EXCERPT:
BELCHER: "Well, historically, yes. I mean, the truth of the matter is, I’m not shocked or surprised that that they have not a lot to run on. So they, they turn to, to, to, to, to, to racism and dog whistle politics. They always have. And unfortunately, it has worked more in American politics than it has not. And we have a whole history of it working. So I’m not surprised that, you know, when they can’t have an answer for the price of eggs and gas going up, they’re going to try to turn to this and try to mobilize around, around tribal lines. And yes, for unfortunately, it has a history of working in, in this country. Now, will it continue to work? That becomes a real question. Can they continue to divide us along along racial lines? Can they continue to not to deliver economically, but say, look, you know, you may be hurting, but those people over there, they’re your enemies and they’re out to get you. And I’m going to protect you from those brown people. That has unfortunately worked a lot in America, in American politics. The question is, will it continue to work?"
