Justin Pearson: U.S. Constitution Doesn’t Say “We, The White People”’

PEARSON: "But the ideals that were written in the parchments of paper, like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America, you know, I serve with the folks in the state house that can’t read the red letters of the Bible, nor have they ever read the Constitution of the United States, because, if you’d ever read it, there’s a preamble to the Constitution and it says three really important words. Y'all know what those words are? 'We the people.' It doesn’t say, 'We, the white people.' It doesn't say, 'We, the white land-owning men people.' It doesn’t say, 'We, the billionaire people.' It doesn’t even say, 'We, the elected official people.' It just says, 'We the people.' And you and I are included in that.”
