Washington Post’s Hajjar: Republicans Should Learn from Graham Platner and Drop Max Miller

‘This is the kind of recklessness that should be disqualifying’

EXCERPT:

HAJJAR: "I mean, this is the kind of recklessness that should be disqualifying, but Republicans should be learning the same lesson here that Democrats learned from Graham Platner and learned too late, by the way. Democrats knew for months that this guy was problematic post Nazi tattoo, post Reddit posst, and waited too long to call him out and we‘re left with a mess. The same thing is happening with Max Miller here. This is — these aren‘t the first — this isn‘t the first scandal that he‘s faced. He‘s faced serious allegations from two other women as well. And so — "
TAPPER: "One of them a former Trump White House communications director, and the other a high school girl who says that he pushed her down the stairs and it was one of the most traumatic events of her life."
HAJJAR: "Exactly. And so both of these politicians, we're talking about Graham Platner, Max Miller, this is the kind of self-obsession that leads somebody to stick to power, crave power so much that they‘re not only willing to put an election on the line for their party, but this is a disservice to their constituents."
