JENNINGS: “Well, I totally agree. You cannot ignore people‘s economic concerns, but you don‘t also have to ignore the prescriptions of the other party. I think Republicans are more than capable of doing both. You can say, I know you have these concerns. Here‘s what we‘re doing about it. Here‘s what they would do about it, and here‘s why our program is better than theirs. That‘s campaign 101. But I agree with him fundamentally. You never want to ignore what the voters are telling you. And if they‘re telling you they have this or that economic concern, it‘s a Republicans job to say, here are the bills we passed. Here are the regulations we‘ve cut. Here are the things we‘ve done to try to ease your pressures on that area. Yeah, that‘s what any good campaign and certainly any good incumbent would do.”
