Adam Schiff Says There Was ‘Great Value’ in Impeaching President Trump During His First Term
RUSH EXCERPT:
SCHIFF: “I‘ll say a couple of things. First, our thinking during the first Trump Administration, in the house, was the president had abuse the powers of his office. He had committed impeachable offenses. We went into those impeachments knowing that the burden in the Senate of persuading a two thirds majority to convict would be very, very high. But our view was that we had a responsibility in the house, if somebody had committed impeachable offenses to charge them with impeachable offenses. And I think that was the right decision. I do think that those impeachments and what they revealed about the president also contributed to the countries understanding of those events and the seriousness of those offenses. So I think there was great value in those impeachments, and certainly the president feels.”
