Stuart Stevens: ‘All the Old Rules That We Thought About Politics Are Wrong’ in Trump Era
RUSH EXCERPT:
Stevens: “Yeah. You know, I sit around in these Republican rooms when we were convinced that a guy named Barack hussein Obama didn’t have a chance in hell to get elected and, you know, seemed like we were wrong. It was extraordinarily popular president and an incredible human being. So, look, I think that in a world in which Donald Trump is president, all the old rules that we thought about politics are wrong. I mean, do we think the Republican Party would nominate a guy that talks in public about dating his daughter? I mean, but there he is. And he was reelected. A guy who refuses to condone those who attempted to and successfully ended a peaceful transfer of power. So, you know, there’s not a conservative party in America now. Yeah. You know, my old party attacks the mayor of New York, who seems to be doing a good job, very popular for maybe five city owned grocery stores."
