Sen. Van Hollen: Abdul El-Sayed Is ‘the Stronger Candidate’ in General Election; Washington ‘Does Need Shaking Up’

‘He is going to be able to pull people together over that very clear message’

EXCERPT:

VAN HOLLEN: “Kasie, it‘s great to be with you. And the short answer is yes. I actually think Abdul El-Sayed is the stronger candidate in the election, in the general election, because I think he is going to be able to pull people together over that very clear message. And Bernie Sanders outlined it as well, which is that we not only need to take on a lawless Trump Administration, but Washington, D.C., does need shaking up. And what Abdul recognizes, it‘s not so much left versus right. It is the folks at the very, very top, the top one percent who have rigged the economy in their favor at the expense of everybody else and are now using about $60 million in super PAC money to oppose El-Sayed because he does want to shake up the status quo and they want to protect the status quo.”
