Sen. Kennedy on Trump’s Push to Make $1.8B Funds the Law of the Land: ‘We Already Have an Anti-Weaponization Fund’
RUSH EXCERPT:
KENNEDY: "In a perfect world — well, let me answer. In a perfect world, senators tillis and Cornyn and President Trump and Mr. Blanche would sit down and work this out. I do believe that senator Cornyn and tillis are talking with the Department of Justice. I don’t know if they will reach a deal. Frankly, I think the odds are against it. I wouldn’t bet my house on it. And if I were betting your house, it would just be a maybe. In terms of the weaponization fund, the president himself has conceded that it will take legislation. I’m glad he conceded that. We’ll get to shape the bill. We already have an anti-weaponization fund, a pool of money that you can access if you were abused by government through the federal torts claim act. If he wants to improve, I’m willing to look at it, but I’m not going the give him a blank check."
