POMPEO: “Trace, I think the end of diplomacy was back in 1979 when they first began to attack us. I think President Trump has been enormously patient. He has tried to give the Islamic Republic Guard Corps an off ramp, a way to get out of the chaos that they have created. But make no mistake about it, they appear to understand only one thing. They still want to lease us the Strait of Hormuz. That’s not appropriate. That’s not going to happen. So, I think it’s going to require more economic pressure, a continued military pressure, and diplomatic efforts. We don’t want it — we don’t want to do any more conflict. We don’t want to do any more war, but the Iranians have a card to play. And so long as they continue to threaten the Strait of Hormuz and to threaten to destroy Israel and the United States of America, I think President Trump is going to have to continue the campaign, put more economic pressure, and then this Islamic Republic Guard Corps, the folks who have terrorized the world for so long, will be no more.”
