POMPEO: “Trace, great to be with you. Look, 70 percent of that town’s population, that’D be roughly equivalent of a couple hundred million people coming into the United States, right? This is a staggering, staggering number of folks who tried to violate basic Spanish sovereignty. And, Trace, we know this is true, right? We had this experience for four years under Joe Biden. When you have open borders, when there’s a suggestion that you can come to our country and we will do nothing about it except for take care of you, provide you social welfare, you get precisely this kind of activity. And for anybody to think that’s actually good for the migrants, we only have to pray for the families of the now, what is it, four dozen, perhaps more, who have died as a result of this bad border policy. The willingness to protect your own nation’s sovereignty is not good for a sovereign nation. And it’s really bad for those migrants who were just trying to come to a better life and now they find themselves either trapped or, in some cases, they’ve now passed away.”
