BOOKER: “Well, I think it’s truth telling. And it’s even being willing to criticize your own party. Look, a lot of this problem that we’re seeing right now that enabled Donald Trump to even get into office, it’s a road that was paved in part by Democrats failing to show the kind of strength and leadership that we need right now. We have been feckless in ways that really frustrate me. In other words, we’ve allowed corruption to creep into Washington, D.C., at levels that are stunning. I mean, the way corporate PACs are playing right now, the way money and politics, it’s why over a decade ago, I said, I’m not going to take corporate PAC money. I’ve given up now all PAC money when it comes to these issue area PACs. We have a country whose Supreme Court is overly influenced by billionaires as they accept lavish gifts with no consequence.”
