Carville: Democratic Socialists Are a ‘Problem’ for Democratic Party; ‘They’re Way Further to the Left than Average Democratic Voter’

CARVILLE: “Well, I mean, you know, they have a right to run. I wish they wouldn’t use the word ‘Democratic.’ If they’re so adamant that they’re not Democrats, then think of a new word. Why do you — why do you want to — why are you running in our primaries? Go do your own thing. But anybody can run. There’s no internal enforcement mechanism that tells people you can’t describe yourself as a Democrat or a Republican or anything that you want to. But I think these people are extremely naive. I think that a lot of people that follow them don’t, you know, need to listen very closely to what they said with the ramifications to this. But, you know, we’ll see. You know, we found all these tremendous congressional candidates and everything else and we got to see how they do. But, you know, sometimes when a party is growing and getting ready to have a big year like Democrats are this year, a lot of people want to latch on and be part of the parade.”
