Wash. Examiner’s Cusack: Is Putting Fauci in Jail Going to Save Anybody’s Life?

CUSASK: "I mean, listen, also, I think the media did treat Fauci with kid gloves. In January of 2020, he did downplay the threat of the Coronavirus. And we need to know, if this happens again, what are we going to do? And what do we learn? And I do think to remember, he had a falling out with Robert Redfield, the former director of CDC, because Redfield said he was saying, 'I think it came from the lab,' and Fauci mostly said, 'No, probably the wet market.' And he wrote about that as well. But overall — and I don‘t know why that became so partisan, that maybe it came from the lab, maybe it didn‘t. We still don‘t know. We will never know because China is not answering any questions. So I think overall, what Dr. Birx said is right, is that Fauci is 85 years old. Putting him in jail, is that going to save anybody‘s life? No. And his work on AIDS was legendary. But he made mistakes. This was a very difficult thing to do. Also, the masks, as far as don‘t get the masks, Fauci said that because, well, he wanted the health care workers to do it. That‘s not new. We knew that already. So I think that Congress should be holding a lot of hearings on this — we‘re learning new things — and then try to figure out how to save lives if this, God forbid, happens again."
