WaPo’s Dan Merica: Voters Care About Affordability, Not How Fauci Handled Covid
EXCERPT:
MERICA: “I do think you're right. It misses what a lot of voters would like to see Congress focused on, where it's affordability, the war in Iran, a whole host of other issues. And I do think it contributes to why a lot of voters think that Congress just isn't working because they see this stuff that Congress is doing because this is sure to go viral and they don't see their lives getting better at the pump and at the grocery store, etc. And so -- and I think there's this disconnect there between how voters feel like their lives are going and what they feel that Congress is doing. I'm sure that this hearing, and I would imagine more to come, because I think that pleading the fifth by Anthony Fauci opens up the possibility of more hearings and more to come on this. It's just going to widen that gulf between what voters want to hear and what Congress is doing.”
