BRONIN: “I was proud to be the first candidate in this race to say we need to abolish ICE, because it was clear that ICE had become a lawless paramilitary that is violating our Constitution, that is separating kids from their families, and it is killing people, citizens and non-citizens. It needs to be abolished. And there's no mystery about what it should be replaced by. We have done immigration enforcement throughout our history, but ICE has only existed since 2003. We need a comprehensive immigration reform that includes immediate citizenship for DREAMers, that includes an immediate pathway to citizenship for folks who are here on temporary protected status, an asylum processing system that actually functions, and enforcement that is based on the rule of law, our Constitution, and humanity.”
