Jason Johnson: ‘By All Evidence, It Seems Very Likely that Lindsey Graham Was Queer’
EXCERPT:
JOHSNON: “Here’s the second thing about Lindsey Graham that was not good that again isn’t being covered enough. And I think this is very very important because we’ve got to be very careful about how we say this. In all likelihood, there’s this thing we have in society called heteronormativity, right? We assume that people are straight. We assume that people are heterosexual. But even when we believe that it’s often against the evidence. By all evidence It seems very likely that Lindsey Graham was queer, right? And I say that because the only reason that you would think he’s straight is because you assume people are straight. There was never any evidence of him being married, never any evidence of him dating people, nor was there any sort of suggestion that he might be asexual and simply, you know lived a life without being involved, but we have a number a number of prominent queer reporters like Keith Boykin. We have numerous and sundry some confirm unconfirmed reports about him paying for sex with men. I don’t say any of this as a criticism. In fact the only thing that you could probably ever find me feeling any empathy towards Lindsey Graham about is that he had to live a during a time in any state where being an out queer man was something that probably would have been the detriment to his political career. But that’s also why I find him problematic in this second reason.”
