CILLIZZA: “Okay. Like I said, I want to explain this a little further. And in order to do that, I want to share my screen and show you some of this data. This is from Gallup. So, let me share my screen. This is Gallup, came out earlier this month, earlier in June. Here we go. Okay. As you can see, U.S. adults’ pride in being an American, we are down to 53 percent extremely or very proud. We went as high as 91 percent in 2004. So, this is not, you know, 1901 that we were proud to be Americans. In — this is shortly after 9/11, 92 percent in 2002, 90 percent 2003, 91 percent in 2004. So, in 22 years, we are down to 53 percent. And then this is the extremely proud number, 70 percent 2003. 69 percent 2004. Again, look, even as we get into these later years, right? Even in 2016, 52 percent of people said they’re extremely proud to be an American. We’re down to 33 percent now.”
