Caroline Downey: AOC’s Problem Is ‘Not Making Adversarial Interviews’ and ‘Hiding,’ ‘Pulling a Kamala 2.0’
EXCERPT:
DOWNEY: "Look, the Democratic Party is plagued, in my opinion, with the unremarkable, unknowledgeable, and yet very ambitious so-called stars. Kamala Harris was one of them. AOC is another. But the problem with those ambitions of hers is that she hasn’t proven that she can be the kingmaker that she aspires to be. She doesn’t want any adversarial interviews. She doesn’t go into the lion’s den. She doesn’t take hot questions from those who are ideological opponents. She prefers softballs. She's kind of pulling a Kamala Harris 2.0, where she's hiding. We saw at the Munich Security Conference, she spectacularly embarrassed herself in something that was just challenging her a little bit on policy, 'Demonstrate your foreign policy acumen.' She was asked about Taiwan, could not articulate a very basic question about our relationship with Taiwan and what it would mean if China were to invade. She failed that. I don’t think she is going to — I don’t think she's going to succeed at any more tests of her foreign policy and domestic policy knowledge."
