Chad Wolf: Secret Service Has to Ask a Hard Question, Do They Put Pres. Trump Back into a Public Building that They Cannot Fully Control?

‘Lockdown the entirety of the building?’

EXCERPT:

WOLF: "Well, for the most part, the Secret Service inside the department is a functioning subcomponent or agency within a larger department and they do great. Almost, it runs itself. Now, there are some things you have to check in as a secretary or an acting secretary time to time, but Secret Service is very efficient. Unfortunately, they are not being funded at the moment, so that is obviously a big issue that the department is trying to work on along with Congress. But look, Service does a great job. I’ll go back to a comment I think a guest made earlier, which is lots of times they are having to work with what is presented to them — in this case, a fully functioning hotel, a large ballroom, thousands of people on this site. Very, very difficult to lock this down completely, so they can’t do that in many cases, so they do the next best thing or the next best thing. Obviously, that's going to get looked at, were the layers of security, were the different checkpoints spaced far enough away from that ballroom? A lot of things will be looked at here, but I think they will have to ask themselves the hard question, which is, do you ever put President Trump back into a public building that the Secret Service cannot fully control, fully lock down the entirety of that building?"
