Symone Sanders: White Supremacist Ideology Is Foundational to Donald Trump’s Beliefs

‘And so this idea that this is just about immigrants in this country, people who have, you know, maybe come to this country seeking asylum, who have crossed the border illegally, who are undocumented, that is not what this is just about’

EXCERPT:

SANDERS: “And what has happened under this, not just under this second presidency of Donald Trump, but I would argue, since he came to rise in political power, which predates him coming down that escalator, which starts with him questioning the citizenship of the first black president of the United States of America, Barack Obama, is this — this white supremacist ideology, frankly, is foundational to Donald Trump’s political beliefs, if we can argue that he holds any to be true. The thing that has been consistent is this idea that some people in this country are, in fact, not foundational Americans, that some people in this country, their citizenship deserves to be questioned. And so, this idea that this is just about immigrants in this country, people who have, you know, maybe come to this country seeking asylum, who have crossed the border illegally, who are undocumented, that is not what this is just about.”
