FBN’s Varney: Is Zohran Mamdani the Jim Crow of Snow Shoveling?

VARNEY: “For the Democrats, it's hard to imagine a worse hill to fight and die on than Voter ID. Despite overwhelming voter support, the Democrats don't want it. They think it cuts minority participation in elections. Some of their opposition is extreme. Senator Schumer calls Voter ID Jim Crow 2.0. Really? He's referring to laws that enforced racial segregation a hundred years ago. Perhaps the senator is trying to appeal to black voters, or maybe he just wants to show how much he hates Trump, since Voter ID is the main point of the SAVE Act, which the president strongly supports. Either way, the Democrats don't want anyone to have to show exactly who they are when they vote. And wouldn't you know it, just as the Democrats ramp up the rhetoric, along comes the mayor of New York, who insists you must show ID if you want to shovel snow. In case you didn't know it, New York has been hit with a major blizzard, and the mayor needs emergency workers to clean things up. To be one of those workers, you need two small photos, two original forms of ID, like a driver's license or a passport, and you'll need your Social Security card, too. That's what you have to show to shovel snow. So is Mamdani the Jim Crow of snow shoveling?”
