AOC: ‘This Most Recent Election for the House, in Many Ways Was Stolen by the Republican Majority’
EXCERPT:
OCASIO-CORTEZ: “This most recent election for the House, in many ways was stolen by the Republican majority. The Republican has, like, a three-seat — have, like, a three-seat majority in the House. Those three seats were gerrymandered out of North Carolina last cycle. And so, we would have either an even split House or a narrow Democratic majority were it not for that. And that’s why I’m so glad that both we fought back in California in order to even the field, and Virginia just — is just issuing maps tonight to turn Virginia into a 10 Democratic, one Republican map. And so, the reason this is important, though, is because it’s not just about what party has more votes in Congress. Party with more votes gets all the committee chairs.”
