David French on Trump-Era Actions: ‘I Think They’re Trying to, in Essence, Desensitize Americans’
RUSH EXCERPT:
French: “I mean, this is one of so many things that we are covering and watching at this very moment. Just think about this week. So far, we’ve had the raid of a Fulton County election center where the head of the director of national intelligence was present. We’ve had the president calling for the arrest of Barack Obama, trafficking in the wildest conspiracy theories. And now we have an arrest of a journalist on very specious grounds. And it’s just piling up and piling up and piling up. And what I think we’re watching is a process in which I think they’re trying to, in essence, desensitize Americans because we can’t live in this constant state of alert and outrage. And so a lot of people are going to want to back away from this. It’s just feels so overwhelming. But I think we should look at the overwhelming day after day pattern of unconstitutional”
