Gregory Meeks on ICE Shooting: I’m Very Concerned, It Doesn’t Surprise Me, What This Admin Is Doing
RUSH EXCERPT:
MEEKS: "I’m very concerned about it. It doesn’t surprise me of what this administration is doing. You know, the contradiction of who he is here. You have an individual who is without the facts, as the attorney general said, announcing that these officers are innocent will not have a transparent investigation. And at the same time, and he claims that he’s protecting law enforcement at the same time, he pardoned 1600 people who attacked and killed police officers. So there’s a credibility issue with the man himself in that regard. And I would hope that the Justice Department would work with the local municipal police and the state as is as generally in any circumstance. You know, when you have that they have always worked collectively together. And if you want to have a credible investigation because all of the facts needs to be reviewed and a determination made, and if it’s going to be credible, it’s got to be with all of them involved. Look, when you have a group of individuals who are masked, running around the community with the intent to intimidate, intimidate, that’s what they’re doing. That’s why they have the mask on. That’s why they have been very forceful, grabbing people, throwing them to the ground. We’ve seen it here in New York, and we’ve seen it all over the country where they’ve gone. And, you know, that is a direct assault on so-called democratic or blue cities and blue states. That’s the only place where he’s sending them so very concerned. This president is the most corrupt president that we’ve had in. I know, in my lifetime."
