Molly Jong-Fast: Trump ‘Finds Himself Sort of in a Pickle of His Own Making’ on the Economy
RUSH EXCERPT:
JONG-FAST: "Yeah. And even like The New York Times had some great reporting about Elon Musk and how little money was actually saved with doge and how much, you know, they disrupted a lot of foreign aid and did a lot of foreign aid, caused a lot of carnage, and didn’t actually ultimately save taxpayers a lot of money? No, it’s been a really, I think, a meteoric sort of look. I think that there was always a feeling that Trump was more powerful than he was, because he won all those swing states. Now, he didn’t win them by so many votes. He won them by 100,000 plus votes. But that’s still a lot of votes. And I think that that created a feeling that he was more powerful and he pulled better than he had pulled previously. But ultimately, a lot of the stuff he wanted to do was the same stuff that Republicans wanted to do, which was largely unpopular. And so as he, you know, he ran on this idea that he was going to make he was going to end inflation. Inflation, as you and I both know, is very tricky.”
