Jimmy Failla: Jimmy Kimmel Has Set Late Night Comedy Back Like 500 Years
EXCERPT:
FAILLA: "But if you watched the show, anybody who's interested in going, I actually have a good connection to get tickets to 'The Jimmy Kimmel Show,' they're free to get in, but they're 500 to get out. They charge 'em, just pay up so you don't have to watch another hour of this. We are living in the death of shame. I'd like to say this. When he says, 'This is how democracies die,' they are trying to obstruct exactly what we voted for. Trump’s number one issue was the border, deportation. Okay, we’re going to get in there and make the streets little bit safer. And these guys are putting out a fundraising video going, 'Hey, you don’t have to do this,' which, by the way, is undermining the outcome of that democracy. So that part is embarrassing. And it kills me that Kimmel keeps doing this to comedy. A late-night comedian’s job is the last thing you are going to watch before you go to bed. We are supposed to put you to bed with a smile on your face. Instead, you are getting 'The fascists are here! Good night, everybody. Have a nice dream.' And that is the part that kills me, is not just what it's doing to the integrity of politics, but he has set late-night back like 500 years. It's gross."
