McCaskill on the Epstein Files: What Does Speaker Johnson Think He’s Accomplishing by ‘Deriding These Women?’
RUSH EXCERPT:
McCASKILL: "Yeah. You have to wonder why Johnson even did this press conference. What does he think he’s accomplishing? What does he think he’s accomplishing by deriding these women and basically dismissing their concerns and saying, oh, this is just politics. It doesn’t help privacy concerns, which they don’t have, which they don’t have. So here’s here’s what I think is going to happen, Chris, I think what’s going to happen is the Senate will vote. I think there’s going to be some dancing around how that vote comes to pass, whether or not thune actually brings it up, he may ask for unanimous consent. And then you might see the Democrats object for purposes of calling a roll call. Because keep in mind, and this is important for everyone to remember, the Senate has already voted on this, and they all voted no except for two Republicans. All the Republicans are on record against opening the Epstein files. So a lot of their members probably are going to want to try to get well and change their vote. It won’t surprise me if it’s a near unanimous vote in the Senate, really. But stay tuned, because I think now there’ll be some shenanigans behind the curtain, and they’ll refuse to release a lot of the information because of the exceptions that are embedded in this law."
