Financial Times’ Seddon: Trump Just Wants a ‘Sort of Ceasefire’ in Ukraine, a Photo-Op at Oval Office, and Nobel Peace Prize Recommendation
EXCERPT:
SEDDON: “It’s quite clear from what he said, that he just wants to have a sort of a ceasefire. And you have the two leaders in for a photo op, ideally in the Oval Office with him. And they’ll — they’ll pose for the cameras and they’ll say that they want him to win the Nobel Peace Prize. That’s what happened with Armenia and Azerbaijan to a certain extent. That is what happened with Israel and Hamas. And the other thing that Putin has done is he’s very much appealed to the proverbial wallet by pushing all sorts of economic and trade deals that Russia and the U.S. could do if they manage to broker an end to the war. We’ve seen talk from his special investment envoy, of building a tunnel, with the help of Elon Musk, between Alaska and remote northeastern Russia. And this is what seems to appeal to Trump, is getting it over and making money for the U.S. once it’s all done.”
