Ron Insana: ‘Gerrymandering the Fed ... Is Something that Everybody’s Becoming Increasingly Worried About’
‘Because it will have adverse consequences for policy making decisions, and on the economy overall’
EXCERPT:
INSANA: "I’ve heard from some officials who are — who understand that this process can be manipulated in a wide variety of ways. For instance, if the Fed — if the president were to get a number of a majority on the federal board — Federal Reserve Board of Governors, pardon me, they could move to fire district presidents as well, who might not be inclined to do what the president wants to do. And so this packing of the Fed or gerrymandering the Fed, if you will, is something that everybody’s becoming increasingly worried about because it will have adverse consequences for policy-making decisions and on the economy overall."
