DEVINE: “I guess it’s really his privileged upbringing. You know, he really is a trust fund baby, a champagne socialist, just a walking, talking cliche. And so, it does shock me that he seems to have fooled a lot of people. He is a very polished performer. I guess he’s a bit of a, you know, a theatrical personality because his mother is, of course, a very successful filmmaker and maybe he gets that from her. And he just doesn’t seem plausible to me. I look at him, his smiles are inappropriate, et cetera. But he is absolutely blitzing the polls. And he’s posing as a sort of a, you know, a socialist, I’m going to make things more affordable for poorer people. It’s not — it’s not poorer people who are voting for him or in polls and voted for him in the Democratic primary, it’s affluent white people.”
