Jenny McCarthy Says a PR Person Once Told Her that a Gov’t Agency Approached Him to Launch a Campaign Against Her

‘To discredit you’

EXCERPT:

McCARTHY: "Yeah, it was — the first few months was okay. It was, like, all these parents came out, said, 'See, I’m not crazy.' There was a tsunami of parents' support going, 'Thank you for finally saying something.' It wasn’t too long after that that I had gotten a visit from someone that worked for — he has his own PR agency, and he said, 'You know, I've been approached by a government agency to be hired to do a campaign against you, to discredit you.' And I was like, 'Well, I'm just a mom telling my story, and if it happens to match other people’s, how would you discredit me?' And he’s like, 'They’re going to label you as an anti-[bleep].' And I giggled at that compliment because I said, 'Well, that's interesting to me, because I haven’t told people, 'Do not [bleep].' I’m telling people that maybe these are not one-size-fits-all. Maybe there's some kids that are — have a predisposition that they can’t, you know, have six [bleep] in one visit. And I laughed at him and I was like, 'That’s not gonna stick.' And he goes, 'Well, I’m telling this because I didn’t take the job. I declined it because my son was also [bleep] injured. But I wanted to drive over here and tell you personally, because yeah, that it’s gonna come. And I kind of flopped it off. And then literally, it was like an overnight campaign.”
