Rick Wilson: It’s Time for Democrats ‘to Play Hardball’ on Gerrymandering
EXCERPT:
WILSON: “Sure. I mean, Saddam had elections. He got 104 percent of the vote. North Korea has elections, the Supreme Leader always gets 172 percent of the vote. None of this is real. It’s this symbolic, sort of kabuki dance of democracy at that point. And this fight, once again, I really have to say this to Democrats, if you think you’re going to be judged or you feel shame about playing hardball politics when the other side is going to politically cut your throat, get a grip. This is a real leadership test top to bottom of the Democratic Party, and so far there are a few people that are showing they’ve got some some skin in the game. They understand the stakes, but not everybody does yet. And I think it’s really important that they get a quick grip on this problem.”
