FDA Commissioner: We May Hit a Record Number of Drug Reviews This Year

MAKARY: “So look, I think the FDA does not rest on any one individual, and no one person makes or breaks a scientific division. There's over 1,000 scientists in that division. I've met with the leadership, the team. They're phenomenal. They're going to be strong. The FDA is going to meet all of its targets for review decisions this year. I think that we're going to reduce the average time. We may hit a record number of approvals this year. And so the trains are running on time. The FDA is strong, and it's going to continue to be strong.”
