Cornell Belcher: Republicans Had an Advantage During Elections, but the Pillars of Their Brand Are Collapsing for the Midterms
RUSH EXCERPT:
BELCHER: "No, I think I think that’s right. Look, I would quibble with most people about what the election was about because I, you know, I know it was about the price of eggs. But the election between Donald Trump and, and, and vice president Harris, two different generations, two. Different different directions for America was a little bit more about something than the price of eggs. But inflation and affordability is front is front and center. And it is the issue that is that is most concerning to those middle of the road, those middle of the road voters. And the issue where, look, the economy, we talked about this going into election, Republicans had a solid advantage on the economy. They had a solid advantage on inflation, and they don’t have that anymore. And they’re going into a midterm where they’re the pillars of their brand are collapsing. And I think we should be prepared to have a strong midterm election if Democrats can get their act together."
